📚✨ Did you know? ✨📚 Through grant funding, Seacoast Community School was able to move and build a beautiful library and calming space for our students and teachers and it’s already making a big impact.
A strong library does more than hold books. It supports early literacy, builds language skills, sparks imagination, and helps children develop a lifelong love of learning. Research shows that access to books at a young age is directly linked to academic success and confidence.
Just as important, our calming space gives children a safe place to reset. Calm, sensory-friendly environments have been shown to reduce stress, support emotional regulation, improve focus, and help children return to learning feeling grounded and supported.

With extreme cold, it’s important to watch for signs of hypothermia in children. Please keep an eye out for:

From window painting to ice painting and exploring different textures for their masterpieces, our students have been busy creating, experimenting, and expressing themselves!

❄️ Cold Weather Safety Tips for Kids ❄️
Winter fun is great, but staying warm and safe is key! Here are a few quick reminders to help little ones enjoy the cold comfortably:
🧥 Layer up smartly: Start with a moisture-wicking base layer, add a warm middle layer (like fleece), and finish with a waterproof outer layer. Layers trap heat and can be adjusted if kids get too warm.
🧤 Cover the extras: Hats, mittens, and warm socks are must-haves! Mittens keep hands warmer than gloves.
👶 One-more-layer rule: Infants should wear one more layer than adults in the same weather.
🚗 Car seat safety matters: Skip bulky coats in car seats. Buckle the harness snugly, then place a blanket over your child for warmth.
🌡️ Know the temps: Limit outdoor play when wind chills drop below 20°F. At 0°F, frostbite can happen in minutes.

🕎 Holiday Fun at Seacoast Community School! 🕎
Here at Seacoast Community School, we’ve been learning about all the holidays this time of year! The Sea Turtles made latkes, shredding, mixing, frying, and enjoying them with sour cream & applesauce. 😋
Some of our classes also explored the menorah, shamash, and other Hanukkah traditions with sensory play and games. ✨

Okay… they weren’t really elves 😉 but it sure felt like Christmas around here! A HUGE shout-out to Lonza and their incredible volunteers for rolling up their sleeves and tackling some seriously MAJOR painting projects that have been on our to-do list for way too long.
Your time, energy, and generosity made such a big difference, and our space is already feeling brighter and more welcoming because of you. We are so grateful. Thank you for spreading so much holiday cheer! 🎄🎨💙

The holiday spirit has been going strong all week! 🎄 From grab-and-go snacks and drinks for our amazing staff to a fresh salad bar (because even elves need a break from the holiday sweet coma 😉), it’s the least we can do for the incredible team that creates holiday magic for our students every single day. 💛
