๐Ÿ“ฃ Friendly Reminder, SCS Families and community! ๐Ÿ’™

Just a quick reminder that we are closing early today, Thursday, August 27, at 12:30 PM and will be closed all day tomorrow, Friday, August 28, for our Professional Development Days.

While weโ€™ll miss seeing our kiddos, this time is so important for our educators! ๐Ÿ“šโœจ Professional development gives our team the opportunity to learn new strategies, strengthen their skills, share ideas, and continue growing as educators, all so we can provide the best possible care, learning, and experiences for your children. ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’›

Weโ€™re always learning, growing, and striving to be better for the children and families we serve!

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our amazing SCS educators. ๐Ÿ’™

See you Monday! ๐Ÿ‘‹

โ˜€๏ธ Field Day Fun! ๐ŸŽ‰

What a day! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Field Day yesterday! The sun was shining, bubbles were soaring, Kona Ice was pouring, and SO many giggles filled the air. ๐Ÿ’™

And this year, we had a SUPER special guest swing byโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ The one and only SPIDERMAN! ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ He stopped by for some fun tattoos, photos, and plenty of superhero smiles! ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

We absolutely love bringing our SCS family together because community is at the heart and soul of what we do (itโ€™s literally in our name! ๐Ÿ˜‰).

A BIG shoutout to our friends at Piscataqua Savings Bank for volunteering their time, lending a helping hand with our activities, and getting in on the tie-dye fun! ๐ŸŽจ Weโ€™re so grateful for incredible community partners who arenโ€™t afraid to get their hands a little dirty....or dyed! ๐Ÿ’œ

Thank you for making Field Day another memory-filled SCS day! ๐Ÿซง๐Ÿง๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿฅซ๐Ÿ’› Introducing the SCS Community Cupboard! Our passion project has come to life!

Weโ€™re so excited to officially unveil our newly expanded Community Cupboard, a welcoming resource helping SCS families and community members access nutritious food and everyday essentials when they need them most.

This special space was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of Citizens Bank, the Mary Louise Billings Trust, Gather, and Nest Carpentry, along with the ongoing support of our amazing SCS families. ๐Ÿซถ

Because caring for children means caring for the whole family. Weโ€™re grateful to everyone who helped us turn this vision into reality and continue building a stronger, healthier community together! ๐Ÿ’›

โœจ Confidence Starts With Play! โœจ Did you know one of the best ways to build an infantโ€™s confidence is to simply let them play, explore, and try things on their own? ๐Ÿ’›

When babies are given the freedom to explore their environment, theyโ€™re learning much more than how to stack a block or reach for a toy. Theyโ€™re building problem-solving skills, developing curiosity, practicing independence, and discovering that โ€œI can do this!โ€ ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŒฑ How can you help?
โ€ข Give them a safe space to explore
โ€ข Let them try before stepping in to help
โ€ข Offer simple, open-ended toys
โ€ข Celebrate their attempts, not just the outcome
โ€ข Follow their interests and let them lead the play

And remember: play doesnโ€™t have to be complicated! A cardboard box, a soft ball, or a few safe household objects can provide endless opportunities for discovery. Every little exploration is a chance to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. ๐Ÿ’•

Let them play. Let them explore. Let them discover just how capable they are! ๐ŸŒŸ

Transitions are in full swing at Seacoast Community School! ๐ŸŽโœจ

As children move into new classrooms, meet new teachers, and settle into new routines, it's completely normal for them to experience a mix of excitement, curiosity, and even a few big emotions. Change can be hard, but with a little extra support at home, these transitions can become opportunities for growth and confidence.

Here are a few ways you can help make the transition a little smoother:
๐ŸŽ Talk positively about the new classroom and teacher.
๐Ÿ’› Keep routines as consistent as possible at home.
๐Ÿ“š Read books about starting something new.
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Encourage your child to share their feelings and ask questions.
โฐ Allow a little extra time during drop-off and pick-up to keep things calm but focus on the same routine with drop off.
๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrate the small wins as they adjust!

Remember, every child transitions at their own pace, and we're here to support them, and you, every step of the way. Together, we'll help make this a successful start to a wonderful year! โค๏ธ

There's just something about watercolors on a rainy day... ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐ŸŽจโœจ They have a way of slowing you down, sparking creativity, and completely hypnotizing you.

Today, our Sea Turtles channeled their inner Winslow Homer, turning a dreary day into a gallery of colorful masterpieces. Who knew a little rain could inspire so much beauty? ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿข๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Rainy days aren't so gloomy when they're filled with imagination. โ˜”๐ŸŒˆ

Just look at those smiles! ๐Ÿ˜ Seriously... how could you not smile back at these adorable faces?

Here's something amazing: 90% of a child's brain develops before the age of 5. That means these early years are some of the most important years of their lives... so yeah, we'd say our work is kind of a big deal. ๐Ÿ’™

Every day, we're building confident learners, curious minds, and bright futures for the next generation of our community.

Want to help make an impact? Your support helps ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒŠ Our little ocean protectors were hard at work today!

After reading The Pout-Pout Fish Cleans Up the Ocean, our Clown Fish learned about pollution and the importance of keeping our oceans clean. They had fun removing trash from the "ocean" and helping clean ocean animals affected by an oil spill.

๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ Wonder. Discover. Explore.

Our Summer PEAK adventurers took a trip to the Boston Museum of Science, where curiosity came to life! From hands-on exhibits to mind-blowing discoveries, the day was filled with excitement, laughter, and learning around every corner (I mean just look at the faces of "awe").

Summer PEAK is so much more than your average summer camp. It's a place where children build friendships, experience new adventures, spark their curiosity, and create memories that last a lifetime. Every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and explore the world together, and we think that's pretty amazing. ๐Ÿ’™โœจ
